Policies and Guidelines
Information Security Services is responsible for promoting a secure computing environment in which Washington State University can carry out its mission and accomplish its strategic goals, by overseeing information security policies, procedures, and practices for protecting core university data.
WSU policies exist to maintain, secure, and ensure legal and appropriate use of the university’s information technology infrastructure. Security and privacy policies work together to provide the campus community with a high quality, trusted, and secure campus computing environment. They also help protect and secure property interests, data, and intellectual property.
Policies and Guidelines form the foundation of any security program.
This web page it is not an exhaustive list. Regulations, policies and procedures are constantly evolving. Laws, policies, and regulations not specific to information technology may also apply, e.g.: student conduct, personnel policy or contract, sexual harassment, chain letter laws, etc.
